I plan on going.  What a great show they put on last year.  Is the P-38 coming this year?

Don't know what previous turnouts have been like for this but it got a mention in the current issue of Arizona Highways so they're getting some pub out to a wider audience.

There were probably 300-350 people there last year.  Hopefully, with the economy slowly recovering, there will be more paying riders this year.  And hopefully, more than one will tell Steve Jr. to give him the max-performance flight like that one guy did last year.  Holy hell that was awesome.

FYI...

All the Xantera properties (Yavapai Lodge, El Tovar, etc...) are already booked solid that weekend so it looks as if Flag would be the base for a long weekend wrapped around this event.  That is unless you have a trailer and want to stay at the Bedrock Campground!   :D

Try this place...it's always worked for me. But since this is only one day...I'll just drive home afterwards!

I'll be there, last year was a blast. I have a 7D now so I am looking forward to trying some video. Trying being the key word.javascript:void(0);

Thought I'd throw in a link to the show's website, for those looking for some more information.

Has anyone called up there to see what birds would be flown in for this?

I just called, Chino has confirmed that they are bringing a P-51 and a P-38.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

I'll be driving up myself from Tucson and can take 3 people. However I will be going into Vegas that night to visit some relatives. So anyone who would come with me needs to find another way back.

Latest blurb on Facebook from PoF says:

B-25, P-38, P-40, Val and P-51 among others are already there!

Should be a good one if they can whistle up some paying customers! :D
