The Collings Foundation left CG today headed for Marana for the weekend.

Here's a couple pics of the B-24.

Now that's what I call a close-up!  Must have been fun though perhaps slightly scary.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Incredible visibility with that one piece windscreen.  What a beast.  There was a fire fighting Privateer sitting at Sky Harbor along the taxiway not too far west of the Garrett hanger in the late sixties.  It had a ladder attached its port side that led up to a small window with no plexiglass in it.  My buddy and I took turns climbing up and looking inside.  Turns out there was a Playboy centerfold taped to the bulkhead.  Some things you never forget.  I was probably in 7th or 8th grade.
