Very cool Harvey (I've been saying that a lot lately about these images from your past). The AC looks pissed-off just sitting there. I suspect a lot of VC and Chinese regulars hated that thing with a passion. My cousin told me that during his first tour he witnessed AC's sending many of the enemy to an early reunion with their ancestors  ;)

The fellow next to one of the Vulcans looks like me in my high school/early college days - damn hippy!

That one goes back a few years judging by the three-bladed props.  A formidable machine for sure!

I can picture you with long hair Jeff, it's a stretch but I can see it.  ;D This machine really delivered lots of fire power with the cannons and gatling guns, a real warrior.

I believe this to be one of the first models of the AC-130s Scott. This photo is about 1974.

I camp at a place in the Saline Valley that is a navigation waypoint for low altitude military flights. It is a sixty mile drive from the nearest paved road. This pair of C-130s cruised past camp on November 19.

Terrific image Joe. Those Columbians sure keep that Herk clean and shiny.

Harvey, your Specter image is awesome and must have been one of the early versions of the platform because it was still configured with three bladed props.  The new gunships have done away with the 105mm and I think the also replaced the 20mm gatling guns with 7.62 miniguns.  I think they did retain the 40mm Bofors aft of the wing.  Great historical image.
