One of 16 originally built as a RC-130A and later de-mod'd to plain-jane A-status.

Not your everyday Herc photos - here is the story. I was scheduled to take my father to the Yuma Air Show Saturday. He got very ill Friday evening and the trip got canceled (he is resting well now). By Saturday afternoon things were back to normal - as much as that can be at my house - and I decided to run out to Willie late. Five Herks were sitting on the ramp too close for my lens. Two T-38s, four AV-8Bs and one F-18F were also on the ramp. With not much happening and not wanting to go home empty-handed, I took a few "close-up" shots of one of the Herc's. In color they were extremely "blah" IMO. Accordingly, I started playing with them as B&W conversions. Not sure how much I like them, but it has been fun to explore.

Thanks James and Jay.

My dad is in his eighties and every day can be an adventure - health-wise. Even though he was a professional photographer for more than 50 years, he still loves to release that shutter. I'm betting we will get to our fair share of air shows in the future  ;D

That spiral effect coming off the props is very cool - nice capture.
