Our yearly El Centro photo call trip is rapidly approaching.  I'd like to take this opportunity and open up the discussion for any carpooling opportunities that may be out there. Not only for myself, but other AzAP members as well.

I am driving out there, but am staying in Yuma for the weekend.  There is a balloon festival that weekend in Yuma that has caught my attention. http://www.crcballoons.com/

Any West side members going to El Centro?

The Yuma balloon gathering is quite nice. It's a fraction of the ABQ Fiesta, but offers some good shootin' potential. On occasion it gets winded out and there are rarely any clouds for a dramatic background, but the clear blue skies at dawn are nice. You can also get involved and help launch and/or catch balloons as well!! It's a good time!

west side - yes

If I have car pool buddies, then will do it is a one day (leave early on Thurs am, return late Thurs night).  Have room for 3 + gear.

If I have no buddies, will go out Wednesday night and stay in Yuma or El Centro and come back Thurs night.

East sider here.  Since I have to be back in town Friday morning, so this old guy plans on staying in El Centro Wednesday evening and then driving home after dinner (Burgers & Beer?) Thursday evening.

I was leaning toward overnighting on Thursday, but if there are enough people doing an out-and-back, I'm more than happy to not spend money on a hotel.

Rob, did you have a departure time in mind?  If you don't have anyone already riding with you, I can pick up Loera on the way to your place and park my car there for the day if that works for you.

I'm leaving Thursday morning and coming back sometime Friday.  I'm staying Thursday night at the Crown Motel, conveniently located within walking distance from Burgers & Beer.  If anybody is interested, I have room in my car and am more than willing to share my hotel room.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.
