Very nice Matt.  Nice wave from the pilot as well!

Thank you Jay.  It was nice of this guy to come back around for a photo pass and give us a "hang loose!"

Jay, two outstanding shots.  Good prop blur AND very crisp detail on the fuselage.

Jay, are you shooting Shutter or Aperture Priority?  I never seem to get all the settings right to get prop blur.  I'm sure it's a delicate balance of shutter speed, ISO, priority selection and probably a million other things that I'm not doing when I'm shooting.  Advice from your experience is always welcome.  Thanks in advance.

Sorry I missed this...need to read via "UnRead" rather than just hunting and pecking I guess...

Anywho, I shoot 95% of the time in full manual mode.  Generally speaking, for props in daylight, I'm at 1/125 @ f/11 or thereabouts.  I usually have a 1-stop ND filter in my 300mm to avoid having to shoot at really small apertures where defraction can start to soften images.  As this one was a little later in the evening, I was probably a bit more wide open.

This turbine powered Lancair really scoots. Looks like they got the landing gear from a Cessna 210.
