B-36J - Just came across this photo while I was making some room on my hard drive.  Just about deleted it when I noticed there was a bolt of lightning visible.

I've been trying to get a decent lightning photo out here for years and you manage it by accident.

It got pretty creepy before I decided to head inside.  You think you're safe because the lightning is a couple of miles away and then there's that instantaneous flash/bang that causes one to reconsider!

The B-36 shot was taken after the peak of the storm which had passed just west of the museum.

Very cool Scott.
Thanks Jeff!  It really was literally cool.  It had been typically very hot and sticky but once the outflow from the storm hit things cooled off nicely, and of course that beautiful desert smell came along with it.  At a certain point it became advisable to sit things out in the nice new snack bar!

Jay, I admit it!  I've become obsessed with deleting files.  It's a curious internal struggle to let go of even obviously redundant images.  There's a little voice saying "maybe this one has some redeeming quality I have yet to recognize".

Scott, I'm going through a similar process.  13,000 images deleted since May 21st.  Lots of older stuff, so much of it redundant, but also going through and getting rid of "keepers" that I know I will never do anything with.  Those are the ones that are hard to get rid of.
