Avro 696 Shackleton M.R.2-AEW.2 Mr McHenry  RAF WL790-8 N790WL
The Shackleton carried the "Orange Harvest" radar warning receiver (RWR) an ESM (Electronic Support Measures for detection and classification). .  This could give the bearing of any radars which illuminated the Shackleton;  the receiver for "Orange Harvest" looked like a giant spark plug and sat on top of the fuselage.

Interesting information Bill. Amazing how long they kept flying the Shackelton.  Hope the museum can eventually restore and place this aircraft inside.

THE SCHNOZZ

F-86Ds, Ks, and Ls are already pretty dorky-looking without getting the fisheye treatment.

They certainly didn't improve the looks of the F-86 by adding the radar!
