I volunteer for the veterans group where I work (American Express). We do a yearly book called "Since You Asked" which covers the stories of a large variety of vets and their time in their respective branch of service. This year, the Coast Guard is being featured. We need CG vets who are willing to tell their story, and maybe also be a keynote speaker at the annual event in May, when the book is presented and those in it are honored.

The book is a great thing, because it documents the life experiences of those who served. I know I never asked my dad, uncle or grandfather about their time in the military, and I regret that decision. Maybe more accurately, I'd ask but not get a ton of information back. These guys are opening up about their time in the military, and I find many of the stories to be fascinating. I'm very happy that this stuff is being documented for future generations to read.

Are any of you CG vets? If so, care to donate some time towards a good cause?
