The image below was taken with my Canon 5D3 and my 50mm Takumar f/1.4. I shot it wide open (f/1.4) after the sun was well below the horizon. The only light (and there wasn't much) was coming through a window on the north side of our living room. There is little depth of field at such fast/wide apertures and therefore the images generally are "soft" with a glowing look. There is something special about the "aura" of light and rendering of color that is unique.
