The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Thought this thread would be the best place for this shot, unless we should start a 'Pyro' thread (as in pyrotechnics and not pyromaniacs, ;))

Another set of HMX-1 birds.  Awesome.  These guys used to make the windows of our building rattle at the Naval Research Lab when they were making their speed runs up the Potomac from MCAS Quantico.   I shot (photographed - gotta be careful how I word that) a HMX-1 CH-46E last week, but it was too far away to get a reasonably clear shot.

We heard them pass south of the Guardrail and fly just a tad bit too far away to catch them. Nice one John!

Killer shot Joe.  Backlighting totally works on this.
