Not really as close as this appears, but the phrase 'Deconflicting traffic' was the first thing that popped into my mind.

Thanks Jeff.  This is the coolest place I know to take images of airliners.  On final they fly over your head at about 50 to 100 feet.  You can stand right next to the approach lights which are about two feet on the other side of the fence from the park.

Prior to Delta's 747 arriving this afternoon, practiced on some of the normal sized (i.e. 737) traffic at Sky Harbor.  I just love it when you nail the exposure (used manual all day) and the image just pops like this - straight out of the camera.  Other than some cropping and straightening, didn't touch the exposure/contrast on this one.

With the dark clouds in the background, but sunlight plane in the foreground, not sure what it would have looked like had I left it in Av (Canon speak for Aperture priority).

Hey, Dave;
Great to see your spot-on exposure. It's amazing what that 'lil ole" gray card can do for you when you let it do the work!!

Broke my new years resolution to not shoot a single canyon blue Southwest 737 or a non-specially-marked Airbus A3Whatever this year.  Oh well.
