It was very much a collaborative effort amongst myself, the pilot (Ryan Pemberton) and my very capable photo ship pilot.  Honestly, they knew the area to fly to given time of day and weather.  I just got to enjoy pushing the button!

Holy smokes Jay.... That is beautiful.  You are hitting it out of the park with your shots from the road trip.    :)

Jay:

Even though you are a veteran member of AzAP, I think a protocol review is in order. For the record; when Joe, myself and others tell you that your first Laird "Commercial" image is one of the best aviation photographs we've ever seen, it is inappropriate for you to post an even better Laird "Commercial" image just a few days later. Now I have to rescind my first accolade and declare this latest Laird "Commercial" image one of the best aviation photographs I've ever seen. If you keep this up, it will cause me to rescind one accolade after another. Surely you can see the dilemma you are creating with this ever increasing level of excellence.

Accordingly, please observe our unwritten rule which clearly states that only a single "one of the best aviation photographs I've ever seen" images may be posted by Jay Beckman during a 30-day period. Let us savor the moment  ;)

All kidding aside, I thought it was impossible for you to top the elegant luminosity of the first image. Well partner, you've done it in spades. The golden hues reflecting off the Laird is spectacular in image number two. BTW, I've never seen or heard of the Laird "Commercial" before, but this is one beautiful airplane. I love the lines, robust fuselage, and the black/gold colors. Kudos to whomever restored and maintains this aircraft.

Jay I have been amazed by every photo you have posted from your trip to the northwest.  They are truly some of the best aviation photos I have ever seen!  Keep them coming!

Jay,

The Laird "Commercial" is such a photogenic aircraft.  It's colors so perfectly suited for the lighting you had on your photo shoot.  You have done a fabulous job of capturing its beauty with your images.   I am in awe of the work you have done on this photo trip.   :)

Thanks to your terrific work Jay, the Laird "Commercial" has quickly become my favorite vintage airplane. I love the lines. The lightning bolt across the prop disc isn't half bad either  ;)
