I had very little time to loiter in the target area, lighting was challenging (hazy noon), I picked the wrong angle for take offs & approaches, and generally sucked at tripping the shutter properly. Only was able to salvage two so far and even those two are marginal. Live and learn I guess.

Just to make sure I botched the entire experience, I forgot to bring my ear plugs and the AB take offs were deafening - what did you say. I had my father with me (85 and nearly deaf) and he actually enjoyed the loud noise  ::)

Jeff , get a good pair of muffs. I hear a cicada in my right ear constantly from lots of  unprotected shooting when I was younger. Wish I had known better.

Lynn - I've got several good pairs of muffs and some custom fitted ear plugs I use for competition rifle shooting. I just had a brain fart when I rushed out of the office to get my dad and left them behind. Since dad is nearly deaf now, he doesn't care one way or another.

BTW, the brother of that cicada in your right ear has been in my left ear since the 1972 Doobie Brothers concert at Veterans Memorial Coluseum  ;D I stood too close to those Marshall amps  ;)

They sure sounded better when they were in the trees didn't they? Mine seems to be an exact imitation of the real thing.

Make that three. Before I was a pointy-nosed picture taker I spent 7 years as a roadie. I've had the post-concert ringing for a looooong time.
