Scott: They are Phainopeplas. The top one (black) is the male. The bottom one (charcoal gray) is the female. They are the birds that spread the mistletoe from tree to tree.

Cool RC shots, Barry.  That bird represents one John Glenn flew on an exchange tour with the Air Force during the Korean War.  Always wished someone did a warbird -86 up in those markings.
