FIAT 600 Multipla

What a cool little car Scott. I really like that Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (F.I.A.T.) decided this Multipla needed suicide doors up front. Only in Italy  ;)

Here is a photo I took in Yuma while standing on the "dunes" and waiting for more recovering WTI aircraft. The last of the tropical depression was clearing and the warm light of sunset was mixing nicely with the clouds. I took this photograph facing nearly due south.

Call me crazy, but given the fact that balloons fly, I think they deserve their own section alongside everything else we shoot...

Nice stuff Walt!

Wow!  Well captured! I was real close that action.  Some really unusual lightning.

DUELING FIREWORKS
Composite of four lightning flashes over the course of eight minutes with the fireworks from a local church's fall festival at the left of the image.

Nice catch Joe.  My lens wasn't wide enough to catch both the fireworks and the lightning, so I stuck with just the fireworks.  What did you use for catching the lightning; long shutters or some sort of triggering device?

Thanks, Dave!  I was standing outside with my wife and our across-the-street neighbor just chit-chatting with my cable release in my hand and camera on "Bulb" mode, and I would just keep the shutter open for what seemed like enough time.  If  a lightning flash occurred right after I started an exposure, I'd keep it going for a while to get more of the fireworks.  If it was a long exposure already and there was a lightning flash, I'd stop it after the lightning.  Really not a whole lot of thought went into the actual shooting, just the composition and settings on the front end.  Past that, I was basically a big dumb ape pushing a button.

Here was our view of the fireworks...my wife and daughter hanging out in the front yard enjoying the show.  That nice breeze did a nice job of keeping the mosquitos at bay too!
