You don't see an AWACS E-3 in Yuma everyday...

The Medal of Honor bird was shooting multiple approaches during WTI. Not sure if they were involved, or just jumped across California to get some pattern work done here in Yuma. It was great to see it flying!!

Thanks for telling me to "look up" Ned!! I've lived in Yuma for 4 years and somehow never noticed the refueling track right overhead! In my defense though, this image was through a 400mm lens and then seriously cropped - they were pretty much dots to the naked eye...

Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion at Kiwanis Park. We got a dirt and grass bath followed by a sand and rock blasting! Reminded me a little of Quantico! Oorah!

Really like that dusk Hornet shot Mike.  Not an easy shot to do that well.

Confirmed.  They're basically participating just to give the WTI students exposure to working with 5th-generation aircraft since F-35s will hit IOC during their tenure as WTIs and they'll most likely end up working with them in the fleet.  They won't have F-35 students going through WTI for another two years or so.

Seconded on that dusk Hornet shot.  Looks good, especially considering the circumstances.  And the light on that Harrier is just glorious.
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."
