The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

It's a heck of an aircraft. My shutter speed should have been slower for the prop blur.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't make it for the landing, but they parked it on the west side and I got these photos.

Wonder if those are the British H-64s that have been at YPG.
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."

I couldn't get a look at the circle on the boom because of the fences and construction, but they look like the Brits birds.
Thank you Jeff.

Take a close look at the guys by the Helo, they look like British uniforms not USMC
"You don't become a professional simply by earning certificates, adding ratings, or getting a paycheck for flying. Rather, professionalism is a mindset. It comes from having the attitude, the ethics, and the discipline to do the right thing — every time, all the time, regardless of who's watching."

The Antonov is still parked in Yuma, but apparently loaded and ready to go. I took a couple more shots this afternoon.

A photograph of the departure, wind calm. The runway is 200 feet wide and it still raised a lot of dust.

The photo here seems to clear up the question about whose Apaches those were.

This guy has a lot of Apache photos in his photostream too.
