Luminosity Masks

Have any of you guys been using Luminosity Masks as part of your Photoshop workflow?

I have been reading up on them.  They look like a very useful technique for very fine control of image adjustments.

I purchased Tony Kuyper's Action Panels and the video series that Sean Bagshaw has done.  Working my way through the videos this weekend.
