When I was competing in benchrest rifle shooting, I often traveled through the region where George AFB, Edwards AFB, and Mohave Air & Space Park are located. Clearly lots of aviation history in the area. I've become aware of the disused photo resolution range on the south side of the Rogers Dry Lake Bed at Edwards AFB. I've seen some wonderful images from this area. Here are some examples of night imagery.

I'm starting to investigate and plan a photo trip in the 1st quarter of 2014 - before the heat returns. There appear to be three primary locations for photography:

1. 34.816036,-117.8636 (B-58 Hustler)

2. 34.819099,-117.852108 (B-52 Stratofortress)

3. 34.822008,-117.82912 (F101 Vodoo)

Next to each one of these sites is a aerial photo calibration target that is also supposed to be no longer in use. I'm sure there must be other similar locations in the area; however, this is what I've found thus far. I wanted to tap into the collective intelligence of AzAP and see what information might surface that would be helpful. Most important is access! These sites don't appear to be "on base"; however, I don't know for sure. With the photos I've seen online, it appears access is possible. What I don't want to do is travel to this location and find it is off limits. Any ideas, information, comments and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure those areas are on the base property. The beginning of lake runway 35 is only about 3/4 mile north of the B-58 location.

This guy has some pictures of the B-58 on Flickr. He doesn't seem to have posted anything on there recently, but you might try to contact him via FlickrMail and ask him how he got there.
