Vance, I did a little editing to your post.

The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Thank you Matt.  What do you think of the latest effort?

Your work is really good (everyone loves the F-4 Phantom II), and we all appreciate the work you put into the logo!

Matt,

This would be a good item for the FAQ section "How to post a link to a picture on another web site".

Thank  you.  I do enjoy drawing them and I receive inspiration from the photos that I see on the AZAP Forum.

To All

This is my latest drawing. It depicts a F-4E Phantom II from the 163rd Tactical Fighter Group out of March Air Force Base.  This F-4E is currently on display at the March Field Air Museum and was the inspiration for this drawing. I titled this one "Bakersfield Brawler".  The name sounded cool and the plane with full air-to-air war appears to be looking for a fight.

California Air National Guard F-4E Phantom II
My friend use to fly for the 163rd at March back in the early 90's I think and flew the E models.  He is currently the F-4 Phantom II Society President.  Lt Col (Ret) Robert "K-Bob" Kay.

Thanks Ned.  I appreciate your comments.  It was a lot of fun researching the aircraft and then drawing it.

Joe Copalman

I'm sure one of those guys is my grandpa.
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."

Joe Foss did live here in Arizona and Richard Bong received his P-38 training at Luke Field...hmmmm the possibilities?

Jay Beckman

Didn't know this until I saw an HBO Documentary on it but Joe Foss was also the original Commissioner of the old AFL in the pre NFL-merger days.
