He was also the Govenor of North Dakota. He had a pretty distiguished life. A hero in many ways.

There was a movement a few years back to name Foss as the top-scoring Marine Ace of WWII since some of the kills in Boyington's total were from his AVG days and have been proven through AVG records to be embellished (he claimed six confirmed kills as a Flying Tiger, AVG records only showed two), and the final two kills he supposedly scored as a Marine were unwitnessed and therefore should not have been credited. Even if he did score those two unwitnessed kills, that still puts his total at 24, two less than Joe Foss's record of 26.

A co-worker of mine went on vacation to San Fransisco while there she came across this and was thoughtfull enough to buy it for me ,pretty cool huh

"Back in the day" I worked in Dayton, Ohio and spent many off hours at the MoUSAF and I have a stash of probably 20-30 similar pen & ink sketches that I bought from the gift shop there. Mine are all only 4x6 or so but yours looks very big!
