On this trip to NAFEC, I was determined to play with my 24-70 lens and try some slow shutter speed/wide-angle panning. I even employed my tripod and the leveled/smooth ballhead for some of the experiment. It was an interesting exercise inherent with problems - primarily keeping the entire T-45/Growler/Prowler in focus. Even switching from auto to manual focus did not improve my "keeper" rate. My yield of usable images did not improve until I started using faster shutter speeds. I normally attribute the "focus" problems to my shaky hands; however, when the back of the aircraft was tack sharp and the front half out of focus (and visa/versa), I'm thinking the wide angle and slow shutter speeds combine for some type of parallax issue (read wild guess). Why that problem disappears at 1/1000th compared to 1/30th escapes my very small brain. Here is a borderline "all in focus" image that turned out better than most. I was sooooooooo frustrated by this experience that I processed this image with some serious gusto and enthusiasm for the sliders. I therefore call it....
