Neat!   The Mediterranean is missing from the background behind Vesuvius if he's inbound, or in the forground if he's outbound    It really does look like a vintage photo.  Are the scratches your input, or does the application do that?

Vance: I'll work harder on my geography next time!    The "aging" is all via a piece of software called Filter Forge 3 which has lots of little adjustment handles for stains, scratches, creases, toning, contrast, etc...  I'm just demo-ing it right now.

You know the scary part about this capability is that when you become an expert in this app, no one but another exper will be able to determine "real" from "memorex".  Same goes for Photoshop 5.  Scary, but neat all the same.

As was pointed out to me elsewhere...

"We spend ungodly amounts of money on the latest equipment simply so we can dull an image down, beat it up and make it look like it was taken 70+ years ago!  What will happen when subsequent generations discover images like this and find that photography had hardly advanced at all since the 1940s!"
