Thanks Jeff!  Maybe there's hope for some of my old film images that I've pretty much rejected due to the graininess.  Not surprisingly I found medium format film to be far superior to 35mm.  A friend has a Hasselblad with some sort of digital back (around 45MP I think) that I'm going to play with next week.  We're going to do some side by side comparisons with a D800e.  I have a feeling it will be impressive but no doubt has many of the same limitations that the medium format film bodies have.  Price alone will keep me out of that arena.  You can't beat the 35mm style DSLR for much of what we do and they just keep getting better.  For static work though.......$$$.......Never mind.

Another archival shot scanned from print film.  I don't suppose I need to identify the aircraft type.

Here's a really old (and grainy) shot of a Sikorsky S-55 taken around 1968 or 69 with a Kodak Instamatic on B&W film.  One of my first aircraft photos.  This old chopper was at Sky Harbor for a few years as I recall and was operated by the USGS.  They also flew a very nice yellow-orange T-33.

Scott, cool shots one and all. The UH-1 is a stand out against that dark sky.

Thank you gents.  These were scanned many moons ago.  Thought folks might find them interesting.  After carefully studying Chris V's recent non-aviation photo I'm not so sure any airplane is very interesting, relatively speaking.
