Pacific Airmotive Tradewind Beech C-45H

Pacific Airmotive Corporation converted a number of surplus Expeditors in 1960s.  These utlized the "Volpar-type" tricycle landing gear, and replaced the twin fin and rudder configuration of the original with a large single stabilizer.

We were treated to a not-your-typical-formation departure as things were starting to come to an end.

Hope that was intentional...

Pretty sure I've got "Eight Charlie Lima" in my logbook on one or two occassions.  Used to be a leaseback at Tailwind, then Chandler Air Service and I think it's now just being flown by the owner.

From the Feb. 2009 fly-in breakfast.  Hans Lauridsen's HU-16 Albatross.  I absolutely love these birds.

The CASA that flew non-stop today.  Fortunately, the clouds/sunlight cooperated for a few good takeoffs and landings.

Nothing like getting home and discovering that the shot you thought you had set up so meticulously is ever-so-slightly off-center.  Oh well, there's always next month, and hopefully next month won't be cloudy.
