True. I was hoping that was a one-time thing, but no.

There will no longer be fly-ins in May. October through April from now on.

Blame it on global warming. The Lions Club said it's too hot on the ramp in May.

I agree...  Too hot in May.  I suspect most all the snowbirds are gone as well.

Plane counts seem to be dropping steadily regardless of the weather. I'm starting to wonder if it's worth the long trip down there and back anymore.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Been waiting a while to share these, from a high school senior we photographed back in June.

Thanks Joe!  It was a sunrise shoot in June, which dictated a 3:30 am departure to pull it off.

GEARING UP FOR GETTING DOWN

SHE'S LEAVING HOME

A few of my shots form the DC-7's departure from Coolidge yesterday.  There was a small team of photographers and videographers from Delta documenting the departure who were further down the runway.  Dave and I thought they were way too far down to catch the lift-off, but they were in the right place and we weren't.  Not quite the departure shot I had in mind, but still great to see this bird get airborne after years of shooting it on the ramp.

Thanks Ned.  Looking like we all might get another crack at it getting airborne at Willie.

DUH!  WINNING!

When Dave and I were at Coolidge for the DC-7 departure, Win Aviation had two, possibly three Sherpas dumping skydivers almost constantly.
