Nice composition!  From his insignia, looks like he's a Corpsman (i.e. Naval medical personnel attached to Marine combat units).  Ours used to only be armed with a 9mm (technically, for self-defense).  Guess times have changed, given the non-nation/non-Geneva convention signatory status of the enemy combatants.
