Back in January, when AzAP first started (we were only a group on Flickr and we called ourselves the Arizona Spotters), we took our first group trip to Pima Air & Space Museum.  I had arranged a private tour of the Restoration Hangar for our group.  An unexpected part of the tour was being able to climb into the cockpit/nose and the tail of their Convair B-36J Peacemaker.

It's big real BIG.  I was in Tucson on business and heading to Sierra Vista late in the afternoon so I stopped in for an hour before it closed.  There were three other people there so I had pretty much unobstructed views to the aircraft.  I took 240 images in an hour and I think I got some really nice shots.  I'll be posting them as time permits.  The indoor displays are really nice and the lighting is reasonable.  They have a Sentimental Journey (B-29 Version) and a beautiful B-24J in their hangers.  I'd go again if you are going to have a road-trip.  I'd like to shoot the HOGS and VIPERS while we're down there.  I did get a chance to shoot the Davis-Monthan Memorial Park as well.  I'll be posting those shots as well.

yeah id totally be up for a roadtrip ,last time I was at Pima was 93 or 94 and it was fluke ,I had drove to Tucson for the airshow at DM but only to find out it had been cancelled due to dessert storm so me and my buddy went to Pima instead (gotta love those pre-internet days otherwise I would have known) but I did hear there are a few more things to see now

As the new hangar is nearing completion new aircraft are slowly being moved in to make room back in restoration. Currently the T-bird F-4E and the F-14A are in there with plastic on them. You can see them through a few breaks in the plastic.
