ATAC lost a Kfir and pilot in a crash near NAS Fallon. Second crash at Fallon in 10 days. An F/A-18F went down on 2/24 with both crew ejecting safely.

I don't know if anybody here is familiar with an aviation blog called "Neptunus Lex" but it was the author of that blog that was killed in the Kfir crash at Fallon.

The NTSB preliminary report on this crash is at the following URL. Sounds like the plane may have run out of fuel due to several unsuccessful landing attempts at two different airports in bad weather.
