"The Thunderbolt squadrons to be stood down encompass one active-duty, one Reserve and three National Guard units."

No details on where each unit is located.

Saw this today.  Crossing my fingers that D-M doesn't lose a squadron, but with five squadrons total standing down, that really cuts into the need for new A-10 pilots to be trained, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 357th or 358th takes the hit on the active-duty side.  I'd be totally disappointed, but not surprised.

Here is a clip from Military.com about the possible Guard squadrons to be closed.

The Guard source said he expected the Air Force to close the 107th Fighter Squadron at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich.; the 163rd Fighter Squadron at Fort Wayne Air National Guard Station, Ind.; and the 184th Fighter Squadron at Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Ark.
The Guard source also said the Iowa National Guard's 124th Fighter Squadron, which flies F-16s, is a target for decommissioning.

Probably the same source quoted in a few other stories out there.  If the guy is right, the 81st FS at Spangdahlem will be the active-duty squadron that gets cut and the 47th FS at Barksdale will be the AFRES squadron getting axed.
