Insane photo, Walt, but this was one of the departures though.  The arrivals were relatively free of brown-outs, but those -53E departures were something else.  We had to run to get behind cars on a few of them.  Almost gave a combat-cameraman feel to the whole thing, tempered by the presence of an ice cream truck blasting Christmas music. 

I am not making that up.

In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Ned Harris

AV-8B+ (BuNo 165570) with YP tail code of HMM-163 Ridgerunners. This is a CH-46 squadron based at Miramar. This Harrier was likely attached to that squadron during a recent deployment.
