Did someone say F-4s? All from Hyakuri last Autumn, first the F-4EJs:

And the RF-4Es/RF-4EJs of 501 Hikotai:

Hyakuri and Wittmund are my top two must-go-to foreign spots, but chances are I won't make it to either before the F-4s are retired.  Thanks for sharing - I've always loved the 501 birds.  That front-quarter shot is just awesome.

On that front quarter shot that Joe refered to ,what is the pod on the centerline hard point

wingsnstuff

Chris.  The Centerline Pod is a Thales built Airborne Electronic Reconnaissance Pod call ASTAC (Analysis Signals Tactical).  It's an ELINT Pod.

Thanks Ned. Weird approach, I saw him coming up from the south out past the airport and then turned initial into the normal 12 pattern. Hadn't seen that before for this guy.
