I was implying that A-10s cannot seize ground, liaise with allies or village chiefs or whatever, detain insurgents, pursue and keep sustained fire on the enemy without having to hit a tanker or RTB for more ammo, or do any of that stuff that the A-10 was designed to support, not supplant.  The "meat bombs" dropped by C-17s win wars, the A-10 helps win battles.  That's what I was getting at, that C-17 pilots have as much right to brag about what they drop on the enemy as Hawg drivers do.  That said, give me a choice to fly either a C-17 or an A-10, and you'd better believe I'm going with the A-10.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Wow.  That does kind of have an "Eye of Sauron" look to it.  Very cool.
