Sad but at least they can try restoring again.  I remember seeing the pedestal up there empty and was wondering where/what aircraft was missing.

I think Alameda is where the Mythbusters do a lot of their stuff when they need runway-length pavement.

Quite a bit of TV and movie stuff is done there. I've seen photos showing a section of freeway that was built there for a movie and a fake plane crash for a TV show.

In fact, you can see the "plane crash" on Google Maps 45 degree imagery.

Im gonna put a sticker on the back of my car, PAPPOP "People Against Placing Planes On Poles", seems like such a waste, I was just by the park on 59th and Bethany where that F-100 is, a friend of mine said that particullar plane served at luke (I guess his dad worked on it) and was mainly a hangar queen  thoughout its time served but recently they had it fenced off with a cherry picker looks like getting a fresh coat of paint but apparently the plane keeps getting more and more damaged from people and pigeons, call me sentimental but that just doesnt seem like a fitting end to a proud warrior.....
