The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Kaspar ready for and during takeoff in the PB4Y Privateer which was going up to fly over the Gilbert Days Parade on Sat. 17-Nov-2012.

Sorry the quality is so bad.  A few issues conspired against me getting a good shot.  The extremely bright overcast sky while shooting a white plane, and the scratchy crazed plexiglass making up the nose of the PB4Y.  Oh, and the last thing that kept me from getting a good shot was I was taking the photos.

I managed to test myself physically and mentally yesterday by participating in my first Ironman triathlon.  Between swimming, biking and running, I travelled 140.6 miles around Tempe yesterday, crossing the finish line 11:42 after starting.  My wife grabbed this shot of me on my 2nd of three laps during the bike portion.

Congratulations Dave.  I saw the Triathlon as I was coming back from Fountain Hills.

You could have cut probably 2-5 minutes if you didn't smile open mouthed, creates excessive drag.

@Bill: Nice shots of Kaspar. He is much braver than me to ride in that particular aircraft.

@Dave: Bill is right sir, unless you are using that open intake for some type of internal supercharger, it is probably costing you some time  ;D  ;D  ;D

He could also be filter-feeding on bugs for protein to sustain his strength.

And that helmet is straight outta Spaceballs.

Thanks guys.  Was quite the memorable experience and still trying to process the whole day.  It's still sinking in.

With all of the air I swallowed during my swim in beautiful Tempe Town Lake, I did have a bit of internal supercharging going on...;D

If you don't mind disclosing, what was your time breakdown for Swimming leg, Biking leg, and running leg?

Bill,

Don't mind at all sharing.  Here are my splits for the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile marathon, taken straight from the Ironman results page.  I finished 642 out of 2900+ athletes that finished, not too bad for an old guy!
