QuoteThe secret is to distract him with "shiny things" while you're shooting...

Now that I'm back from my summer tour on Sentimental Journey, and having gone through a bunch of unread posts, may I offer some additional insight:

Along with 'shiny things', letting me play with large white lenses and new (Canon) bodies can also be used for distracting me.  The duration of the distraction definitely seems proportionate to the reach of the lens.  For example, a 400mm f2.8 will pretty much keep me occupied, and out of your shots, for a good portion of the day.

Just something to keep in mind for the next photocall... ;)

A self-portrait from within the nose of SJ, on the way to our air-to-air.  Yes, that's sweat about to drip off of my chin.  Greenhouse was my chosen word for that ride.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.
