That was a great catch Jeff and I like the monochrome version too.  I've always really liked the Kaman intermeshing rotor helicopters.  The K-Max is a particularly functional looking machine!

I finally made it out to Willie for the first time in a long while.

Two in on the Holloman Bird. The backseater hoped out and got in the striped down bird and they buged out fast. Friday afternoon, umm O-club anyone???

"You don't become a professional simply by earning certificates, adding ratings, or getting a paycheck for flying. Rather, professionalism is a mindset. It comes from having the attitude, the ethics, and the discipline to do the right thing — every time, all the time, regardless of who's watching."

AFSOC Dash-8 back in October 2009.  Can't believe this was over two years ago.

Hey Jay:

Did you take the 01/31/12 images using the Gitzo/Wimberley combo? If yes, it sure did not hurt the image  ;D

All of the above (and this AH-64) were with the Wimberley.  Not the ideal solution, especially for true panning (none of the above are really tack sharp .. they all have at least a tiny amount of motion blur) but I think that it can work for shots that are primarily head on.  I'll test it further at Coolidge.  I think planes turning off the active and taxiing to the ramp will be the perfect subjects.  Especially from a slightly low angle.

It does let you drop to a pretty low shutter speed though.  The PZL shots are 700mm @ 1/60!

Any filters on those PZL shots?  Solid exposure at 1/60 in bright daylight is pretty impressive.
