Whole lotta ChiCom metal at Casa Grande.

Good grief what a sight that must have been (or sound for that matter)!

James, it most certainly was.  I was shooting some departures when I saw four flights of four of these things on the horizon.  I remember muttering something along the lines of "YGBSM."  I actually missed the Skyvan departing because I was trying to shoot these guys when the entered the overhead and made their breaks.

As cool as seeing the L-39 was, I still think that the owner of that plane is  kinda funny hehe...its like bringing a gun to a swordfight

Ex-Irish Air Corps SF.260.  This very same aircraft is pictured in an old issue of World AirPower Journal firing rockets over a range in Ireland:

You don't concentrate on risks. You concentrate on results. No risk is too great to prevent the necessary job from getting done.

Played some catch-up on editing some older shots this weekend:
1. Phoenix Helicopters contingent arriving at Casa Grande.
2. One of the perks of being a helicopter pilot is that attractive women will hold your coffee for you.
3. Super Cub - can't tell if this one is coming or going.

1. ¡Ay ay ay, es rojo!
2. CAF's SNJ arriving.
3. I know I've said that nothing looks stupider than stuff that is self-consciously "futuristic-looking," and I more or less stand by that.  But damned if this Lancair isn't a beautiful freakin' aircraft.

Last batch for now.
1. Totally didn't even notice this shot when I first went through my photos, but it wound up being one of my favorites from that day.  Came out fairly well considering how far it was.  I think I was at 500mm on this as well.
2. Artsy-fartsy crop of the L-39.
3. Head-on of the Aztec turning off the active runway.
