The combined airline will be called United, based in United's hometown of Chicago, and run by Continental CEO Jeffery Smisek. United CEO Glenn Tilton will be chairman.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

I wonder if the New United will bring back this service, the "United Friendship."

What's the point of staying under one company name - to have to change all of the company's logos anyway;

"The combined company, which will fly under the United moniker and Continental logo, will be larger than Delta Air Lines (DAL, Fortune 500), which became the country's largest airline when it merged with Northwest Airlines in 2008....."

Maybe it is just a CNN typo - http://money.cnn.com/2010/05/19/news/companies/continental_pilots/index.htm
