When it comes to commercial aviation, especially the passenger airline industry, it is hard to imagine a more iconic airframe than the 747. I'll certainly miss standing on my front porch in the early evening and watching as one of BA's 747s turns to final for PHX. I've been spoiled.

I'll miss creeping Paul Dunn out by texting him "I just saw you fly over my house while sitting on my toilet."  And you know, being able to hang out with him for a few days on his layovers and such.  And yeah.  747s are just awe-inspiring to see in the air.  There's an elegance there that's just absent from the A380.
