Hi Guys...

I'm off to OSH tomorrow and I'm having a little difficulty deciding which body to pair with a Canon 1DMkIII.

Having never been before, I don't know if I'll spend more time "up close and personal" with subjects (5D for full frame wideness) or if I'll be shooting more like an air show where I'd want more "reach" (40D for the 1.6x "crop factor")

Glass being taken:
300mm f/2.8 (+ 1.4X and 2X TCs)
70-200
24-70
17-40
50

Any suggestions one way or the other?  Thanks in advance...

Jay,

Being a rookie myself, my $0.02 would be to take the 5D.  Since your camping for the duration, you'll be there from first light to last light each day.  Most planes will be there for >1 day, giving you a chance to get 'up close and personal' quite a bit.

I'll check in with you after I get up there and see how happy you are with whichever choice you make.

The more I think about it...the more I'm leaning 5D.  I've got the TCs to use with the 300 (and the 70-200 in a pinch)

Thanks for weighing in...
