Save The Date engagement cards

My girlfriend's son is getting married. I've been enlisted to take pictures for those "Save The Date" things people send out. I can take pictures, but I've never done this sort of thing with them.

Where the hell do you start? Anyone done this before? I just played around out on Vistaprint, and they seem to have some decent options. Any other suggestions?

Shutterfly has an assortment of Save the Date cards.

I've made them using Photoshop and Illustrator before. No pics, though. Only borders, words, and a few graphics.
