Grand National Roadster Show - Photographing Hot Rods?

My Fine Associates:

I've been invited by a old shooting buddy (rifles not cameras) to attend the Grand National Roadster Show with him next Friday/Saturday in Pomona, CA. It will be a great opportunity for me to photograph some incredible automotive creations; some of the best on earth I'm told. It is my understanding that the vast majority of display cars are "inside" the Fairplex facility. I don't have any experience shooting cars/hotrods indoors. I don't see me using a flash; however, I'm uncertain about a tripod. Since it is a judged car show, I'm told the lighting in the Fairplex is decent. In looking at images from past shows on Flickr, things don't look poorly illuminated - just a guess. I'm also told there are some cool rides in the parking lot, so photo ops will be aplenty.

I will be using my Canon 5D3 and 24-70L lens. I know some of the AzAP crew (i.e. Chris V., Bill O., & Scott C.) have done this very well in the past.

Any comments on how best shoot this event successfully would be appreciated. I am especially interested in ISO, shutter speed, and f/stop settings. Thanks.
