Most regular Gateway shooters already know this, but I thought I'd put it out there for everyone else.  There is currently some taxiway-related construction going on down near the approach end of runway 30L.  While aircraft have still been landing on this runway and turboprop aircraft have been departing from taxiway Kilo (like they normally do), aircraft that run the full length of the runway on departure have been using 30C and 30R.  This means that there are no good departure shots to be had from the FBO/Gazebo area, or anywhere else for that matter.  Willie has an update on their website, looks like this project runs through June 2010, though I'm not sure how long this will actually keep aircraft departing from 30L.  I'll keep you guys posted on any changes.

For info direct from the source, see the note on Project 506 at http://www.phxmesagateway.org/Content/Development/ConstructionUpdates.pdf.

All the best,

Joe
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."
