Does This Look Correct?

I've migrated to a new Windows 7 machine which means I'm now running the 64-bit versions of LR 3.4 and CS5 Extended.

This was my first edit from scratch in LR and while maybe I need to recalibrate my eye to nVidia graphics after having stared at ATI for several years, something about it doesn't "feel" quite right.
Similar editing techniques applied as were done to other images from this series but this one came out quite different.  Seems to have less contrast and isn't as dramatic.

Opinions sought please...

Jay:

Color and saturation appear good to me, so I believe your Spyder has done its job. From a contrast standpoint, the image seems flat. I can't decide if it is an issue of contrast range across the 51 or a lack of separation from the background. For example, the images on your website on either side of this one (i.e. #22 & #24) have more "pop" in the canopy and across the top of the fuselage. The reflective areas on the leading edge of the wing and tail are not as bright as in other images of the same bird.

I like this image very much - especially how the crop creates the "in your face" relationship. If it had a greater range of contrast and separation from the background I think it would jump off the screen with an almost 3D rendering.

Just my 2-cents. BTW, I'm forming these opinions based upon my views from a 27" iMac.

A quick look at it would make me want to tweak the curves a bit to make it a bit more contrasty IMHO.

Too bad the subject is so boring-     NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Jeff. It does seem a little flat. The color balance looks good and the red saturations is fine, but I might tweek the blue to bring out the nose a little more.

Got a new monitor at work.  This shot looked great at home, but looks awful on this computer - looks a little too dark and a wee bit green.  Anyone else seeing that?  Most likely a calibration issue on this end.

Looks pretty much OK for exposure but yeah, it's a little on the green side here too...

Does this look a little Magenta on your end?

Same plane.  A little bright here but I trust the hue.

Joe - It looks dark and a little green on my iMac; which is a fairly bright monitor.

Jay - Maybe just a hair on the Magenta side. That being said, I'm not sure I would have noticed.

Thanks guys.  Jay, no magenta-ness as all, so looks like it's not a big calibration issue.
