Sheriff Joe now has an air force (Luftwaffe?). Just what we need, a bunch of amateur air cops flying around looking at the ground instead of watching for air traffic.

I wouldn't worry too much...

Sooner or later, someone will challenge this in court and the participants will be enjoined from flying.

I look forward to the legal expertise of these "posse" members on the legality of taking photographs at the public airports they fly out of.
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."

Where do I sign up to do some air to ground shooting?  ;D

(On second thought, the ground to air shooting might be a bit too much to take!)

Fox wasn't the only station to cover this.  I saw it on ABC, and they had some more info;

- A Sheriff's deputy would be on-board
- Sheriff's office would probably end up paying for the fuel for the flights
