Convair YF2Y-1 Sea Dart BuNo135763- This aircraft sat for many years in more or less the same area from the mid-fifties until just after this photos was taken in 1980.  Some of my earliest memories are of this aircraft which was visible from the road that runs between the Coast Guard Station and Lindbergh Field in San Diego.  Convair had a small facility on the harbor side of that road near the seaplane ramp.  I was probably only three or four when I first saw it. A few months after this photo was taken it was repainted and moved to the Reuben H. Fleet Museum at Balboa park.  Unfortunately they didn't get the paint quite right but at least it didn't get scrapped. The Ginter book on this aircraft has some very interesting stories.
