Civilian C-5A's possible

This Aviation Week article says, among other things, that surplus C-5A's could end up with civilian carriers. That would make for some interesting photo ops.

It would indeed.

I can foresee Boeing marshaling their considerable political clout against this idea though. I don't think they would like the idea of competition for the large freighter market from relatively cheap surplus airplanes.

Don't worry.  The "relatively cheap" part will quickly disappear after Lockheed refurbs them to get a few more hours out of them!
