One of our California photographers just went on a Tiger Cruise on board the USS Ronald Reagan.

Take it away Phil...

Greetings AZAP

Thanks for letting me post my USS Ronald Reagan Tiger Cruise Pics...

First, I took over 5,000 pictures and only have got down to 650 keepers, so far..Please go to my smugmug site to view the pics...

I boarded the ship in Pearl Harbor Thursday, Oct 15th and arrived in North Island in Wednesday Oct 21st.  From an avaiation photography perpsective, I don't know what will top this!  It  was an incredible experience. With exception to being on the actual flight deck during flight ops, I had complete access to all of the boat.  I was able to shoot from the pri-fly, vultures row, and the fantail.

Day One - one helo launch (this was the only flight ops we were able to view from the flight deck) and recovery.
Day Two - no flying
Day Three - air power demo practice flights and sea power demo
Day Four - air power demo
Day Five - maintenance flights
Day Six - air wing fly off
Day Seven - no flights - return home

The men and women of the USS Ronald Reagan were simply, great!  Very helpful and informative.

Here's my link to view the pics. Go to the USS Ronald Reagan.

Please let me know what you think. This was my first time shooting all RAW and processing them with NX2.

Thanks again and hope to see you at NAFEC next month.

Phil,

Lots of very nice shots you have there.

I agree, it will be tough to beat an opportunity like that.

Congrats,

Phil, I've told you via email, but I'm going to now make my thoughts on this public.

You're photos are awesome, and I'm extremely jealous!  I would agree with you, a Tiger Cruise would be the ultimate experience!  It might even top logging B-17G time (the jury is still out on this one, of course, I'll have to get on a Tiger Cruise before I can actually make that decision)  Feel free to post some of your favorites directly into this thread.

I'm looking forward to finally meeting you next month!

Phil, if you are looking to adopt a 34-year-old son, I'd be more than happy to make your next Tiger Cruise a family affair.

Outstanding shots.  Several POTM candidates in there if you post them to the forum (*COUGH*Hawkeye*COUGH*).
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."
